84 Lumber Highlights Customization Services at International Builders' Show

Company promotes custom millwork and kitchen and bath design capabilities at housing industry's premier event

EIGHTY FOUR, Pa. (Feb. 28, 2019) – 84 Lumber showcased a more modern side to its business at the International Builders’ Show (IBS) in Las Vegas Feb. 19–21. The building materials supplier unveiled a new, 1,500-square-foot booth — its largest event space to date — that emphasized the company’s millwork, kitchen and bath customization services in contemporary fashion.

“IBS is the premier event for the housing industry, so it’s crucial for us to put our best foot forward there every year,” said Amy Smiley, vice president of marketing at 84 Lumber. “This year, we introduced a new, modern-day booth that gave attendees a detailed look at some of our core specialty services like custom millwork and kitchen and bath design. These offerings appeal to builders, contractors and vendors who come to shows like IBS to discover new trends and ideas.”

Among the stand-out features of the new space was the millwork display. Designed and built by 84 Lumber’s custom millwork shop in Eighty Four, Pa., the exhibit incorporated various styles and elements that are popular with today’s builders and homeowners, including white shiplap, craftsman-style columns, decorative gable, and miniature barn doors.

Custom millwork was also present in other areas of the booth. In addition to the millwork exhibit, the Eighty Four team produced a butcher-block countertop for a bar area, a floating vanity for a bath display, and a maple cabinet with a maple butcher-block top for a kitchen exhibit. The space also had several sitting areas and a giant video wall.

“We got many compliments on the new booth, particularly the custom millwork exhibit,” added Smiley. “Many people were pleasantly surprised when they learned that it was designed and crafted by 84. It gave us the opportunity to introduce that service to many people who previously weren’t aware that we offer it. Overall, it was a very successful event for us.”
