84 Lumber Presents Donation to Boy Scouts at 28th Annual Golf Outing
EIGHTY FOUR, Pa. (August 23, 2017) – 84 Lumber and the Boy Scouts of America have been partners for nearly 30 years. Beginning with 84 Lumber founder Joseph Hardy in 1989, the annual Joe Hardy 84 Lumber Golf Invitational is held at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort each summer. With the goal of raising funds to support the Boy Scout’s mission, 84 Lumber is the event’s host and a primary sponsor. This year 84 Lumber, and its vendor partners, donated more than $130,000 to the Westmoreland / Fayette Boy Scout Council.
The event was held Monday, August 21, 2017 and Tuesday, August 22, 2017 across both of Nemacolin Woodlands’ golf courses – the newly opened Shephard’s Rock and Mystic Rock – with more than 200 attendees participating. With a crowd of attendees including sponsors from across the country, associates from 84 Lumber and Nemacolin Woodlands, troop leaders and boy scouts from the Westmoreland / Fayette Boy Scout Council, the golf outing was a huge success.

The Joe Hardy 84 Lumber Golf Invitational is one of 84 Lumber’s largest philanthropic endeavors each year. Attendees are invited to participate in a multi-day golf outing, followed by a formal dinner and check presentation to the Westmoreland / Fayette Boy Scout Council. Guests are also given access to all of Nemacolin Woodlands’ amenities.
