84 Lumber Partners with Sarris Candies to Launch Sawdust Sundae in Celebration of 70 Years

Two iconic Pittsburgh brands have joined forces to create a delectable summer treat! In celebration of their 70th anniversary, locally-founded 84 Lumber has partnered with longtime Pittsburgh favorite Sarris Candies to unveil the Sawdust Sundae – a one-of-a-kind treat inspired by 84 Lumber’s role in the building materials industry.
Launching 8/4 (a playful nod to 84 Lumber), the limited-edition sundae features a classic vanilla ice cream base with Biscoff cookie butter topped with Sarris Candies’ signature whipped cream and Biscoff crumbles reminiscent of sawdust. The dessert will be served in a custom 84 Lumber anniversary construction bucket, giving guests a fun keepsake to take home.
The Sawdust Sundae will be available exclusively at Sarris Candies’ Ice Cream Parlor for $7.84 starting August 4, while supplies last. To celebrate 84 Lumber’s exciting anniversary, the sundae will also be free for the first 70 guests!
Founded in 1956 by Joseph A. Hardy III, 84 Lumber has grown from a single lumber yard into America’s largest privately held building materials supplier, with 320 facilities across 34 states. Despite its national reach, the company remains family-owned and deeply connected to its Pittsburgh roots. Partnering with Sarris Candies, a beloved local institution known for bringing generations of families together over delicious treats, is the perfect way to celebrate this milestone.
