HBSDealer Recognizes Two 84 Lumber Associates During its Top Women in Hardware & Building Supply Event

Building materials supplier’s Director of Human Resources and Vice President of Marketing are honored through the annual program

Each year, HBSDealer Top Women in Hardware and Building Supply celebrates and honors women in the industry who are making outstanding contributions to their companies and communities. 84 Lumber is proud to announce that during the event this week, the company’s Director of Human Resources, Angela Seaborn, was awarded with the 2020 Rising Star Award, and Vice President of Marketing, Amy Smiley, was honored with the Business Excellence Award.

“As a woman-owned business, 84 Lumber is always proud to support women across our entire industry,” said Smiley. “We always enjoy working with HBSDealer, and their Top Women in Hardware and Building Supply program has been a huge success for everyone that’s been able to participate. It has been an honor, not only to be a part of this year’s virtual event, but also to be honored alongside other trailblazing women.”

The goal of the HBSDealer Top Women in Hardware and Building Supply program, now in its second year, is to recognize achievement, promote diversity and attract more women into the industry. Honorees are chosen based on nominations from industry peers in the following award categories: Business Excellence, which recognizes women who have demonstrated achievement, growth and success in the hardware and home improvement industry; Rising Star, which recognizes women considered to be an up-and-coming star in their profession; and Career Achievement, which recognizes a woman who has demonstrated superior leadership and success over her significant career.

“The main purpose of the HBSDealer Top Women in Hardware and Building Supply program is to attract more women into the business, encourage those who are already here to stay, and show them how to reach the C-suite. As a female HR professional in this industry, these are my objectives on a daily basis, which is why I was so thrilled to be a part of this program,” said Seaborn. “I am honored to be named one of this year’s Rising Stars, and I look forward to working alongside my female colleagues to continue making an impact in this industry for years to come.”
