84 Lumber Opens New Door Shop and EWP Hub in Greenville, South Carolina as 2020 Growth Momentum Continues

Nothing can stop 84 Lumber’s growth as it follows through with 2020 expansion plans

In the beginning of 2020, 84 Lumber announced aggressive expansion plans following record-breaking success last year. The company is continuing the momentum and following through with its plans with the announcement of its most recent opening in Greenville, South Carolina. The new door shop and engineered wood products hub officially opened in March and is now serving customers.

The new 58,000 square foot facility currently runs one interior door line with plans to open an exterior door line by early July as well as a second interior line eventually. The store employs 10 associates to date and hopes to more than double its staffing as business grows.

When the new Greenville store opened, 84 Lumber also relocated some of the engineered wood products operation to Wellford, South Carolina. The addition of the EWP plant in Wellford will increase the production capacity by nearly 50 percent.

“The Wellford/Spartanburg area is an area we are targeting for future growth, so having a location there will set us up for success and allow us to better service our customers in those markets,” said Matt Rinck, area manager at 84 Lumber. “I’m proud of the work our team has been doing in this region and look forward to continued success.”

The company is also moving forward with its other expansion plans around the country. The Mansfield, Ohio components plant is currently under construction and will soon provide trusses, floor panels and much more to the surrounding area. Additionally, 84 Lumber is moving forward with plans to expand to Stockton, California; Boise, Idaho; Detroit, Michigan; and more.

What first started as a cash-and-carry lumber yard nearly 65 years ago, 84 Lumber is now the nation’s largest privately held building materials supplier. To follow along with the company’s recent developments, follow 84 Lumber on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.
