84 Lumber Promotes Dave Rumbaugh to Vice President of Logistics and Specialty Purchasing

A 20-year company veteran, Rumbaugh previously was the Director of Contract Purchasing since 2011

 

EIGHTY FOUR, Pa. (March 14, 2023)- 84 Lumber, the nation’s largest privately held building material supplier, is proud to announce the promotion of Dave Rumbaugh to vice president of logistics and specialty purchasing. Dave has been with 84 Lumber for 21 years and has held several different positions with the company during his tenure.

Dave started as a manager trainee in 2002 and then became a co-manager and store manager in the company’s central division through 2006. He started in the purchasing department at the company’s headquarters in 2006 as a lead buyer. In 2011, he was promoted to the role of director of contract purchasing.

“During his career with 84 Lumber, Dave has always risen to the occasion and has proven to be a true shining star,” said Frank Cicero, Chief Operating Officer. “He is one of the future leaders of this company.”

As Dave steps into his new role, he will oversee the logistics and fleet operations for all delivery trucks, which includes over 40 independent haulers and 1,110 trucks that are 90% forklift capable. In addition, Rumbaugh will manage all capital purchasing of manufacturing equipment for door shops, component plants, and EWP facilities nationwide.

“Dave is a great example of a hard-working associate who joined the company in an entry-level position and has risen through the ranks at both the store level and team headquarters,” said Cicero

Rumbaugh is replacing Mitch Feldman, who will be retiring after 36 years with the company.
