84 Lumber Named a Top Workplace in Pittsburgh

Company recognized in Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s annual Top Workplaces campaign

EIGHTY FOUR, Pa. (Sept. 12, 2018) – 84 Lumber has been named a 2018 Top Workplace in the Greater Pittsburgh region by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Earlier this year, the organization teamed up with research partner Energage to distribute a third-party survey to regional employees to measure various aspects of workplace culture, including alignment, execution, employee satisfaction and more. A total of 94 companies were honored at an awards ceremony Aug. 23 at the Senator John Heinz History Center in Pittsburgh.

This year’s winning companies were segmented into three categories: large (400+ regional employees), mid-size (150-399 employees) and small (50-149 employees). 84 Lumber ranked 12th among large companies. In addition, the business received a special award for “Clued-in Senior Management,” which recognizes the company whose senior leaders are most aware of what’s happening within their organization.

“Being recognized as a Top Workplace is an incredible achievement that wouldn’t have been possible without the team we have at 84 — in Pittsburgh and across the country,” said Maggie Hardy Magerko, owner and president of 84 Lumber. “I cannot commend my associates enough for the work they do every day that keeps this company moving forward.”
