A small business located in a certified "historically underutilized business zone"; owned and controlled by one or more U.S. citizens; and at least 35% of its employees reside in a HUBZone. A HUBZone is a qualified census tract (as defined in Section 42(d)(5)(C)(i)(1) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986. Certified by the SBA as a HUBZone small business concern and registered in SAM (System for Awards Management, www.sam.gov) and DSBD.
A concern which does not qualify under the definitions of Small Business or Small Disadvantaged.
Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business
A small business not less than 51% which is owned by one or more service-disabled veterans, and management and daily business operations of which are controlled by one or more service disabled veterans or in the case of a veteran with permanent and severe disability, the spouse or permanent caregiver of such veteran.
A concern which is independently owned and operated; is not dominant in it's field of operations; total employees do not exceed 500; annual average receipts for the three (3) years preceding of less than $13 million for special trade contractors, or annual average receipts for the three proceeding years of less than $13 million for general construction industry. See FAR 52.219-1c regarding penalties for misrepresentation of business status and FAR 52.21909(e)(4) for providing notice to subcontractors of same.
A concern which conforms to the definition of a Small Business; is owned, operated and controlled by one or more socially and economically disadvantaged individuals. Ownership must be at least 51% by one or more socially and economically disadvantaged individuals. Socially and economically disadvantaged individuals include Black Americans, Hispanic Americans, Native Americans, Asian-Pacific Americans, and other minorities, or any other individual found to be disadvantaged by the SBA. Certified by the SBA as an SDB and registered in SAM (System for Awards Management, www.sam.gov) and Dynamic Small Business Database.
Veteran-Owned Small Business
A small business not less than 51% of which is owned by one or more veterans (as defined at 38 U.S.C. 101(2), and management and daily business operations of which are controlled by one or more veterans.
A concern which is at least 51% owned by a woman or women who also control and operate it. "Control" means being actively involved in the day-to-day management.
